I Want to Live

18week

It’s dark but I can hear,

Mommy’s heartbeat loud and clear…

I’m all alone living in a protective, sheltered, place …

Until time passes, it’s my temporary space…

But something’s wrong…

I feel afraid…and something hurts…

Don’t do this…

Please…I cry, but no one hears…

I wanted your arms of love to hold me…

I wanted to know you care…

I want to know you really aren’t considering, tearing me from here…

You said you didn’t plan on me…

And that you’d be better off…if only you had thought…

Now you are crying, now you are caught…

But mommy, dearest mommy, I have a heartbeat…I’m alive…I have eyes and ears…

I can feel…

And I know you feel my kicking feet, when you lie down to sleep…

Mommy, please mommy, choose life for me,

For if you don’t stand up and fight for my rights…

No one else will see…

I am a living person and I have the right to be…

Alive and well I am not just a thing…

Mommy, don’t take my life…before I’m born, it’s an awful thing to do…

Let me live and when I’m born…I will come live with you.

I am a gift and in God’s eyes I have rights too!

Psalm 127:3-5 New Living Translation (NLT)

 Children are a gift from the Lord;
they are a reward from him.
Children born to a young man
are like arrows in a warrior’s hands.
How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them!
He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.
